Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Watamu, around 6:00 AM, following a hearty breakfast at our restaurant near our office.
After approximately 2 hours of driving, we will arrive at the entrance of Tsavo East National Park. While our driver handles ticket formalities at the gate, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the nearby river and observe crocodiles in their natural habitat. By 9:40 AM, we’ll board our safari vehicle and commence our morning game drive inside the park.
As we traverse the ranger-maintained roads, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, gazelles, antelopes, and more. Our vehicle is equipped with a radio to communicate with other guides in the park, ensuring we take you to the best spots for wildlife sightings.
We’ll continue the game drive until around 1:00–1:30 PM when we arrive at our lodge inside the park for a buffet lunch. After a leisurely meal, we’ll embark on an afternoon game drive, exploring more of Tsavo East’s stunning landscapes and rich wildlife until sunset.
In the evening, we will check in at Ngutuni Lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner in a serene environment. After dinner, the adventure continues with a thrilling night game drive (Safari Notturno) from approximately 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, providing a rare opportunity to witness the park’s nocturnal creatures. Following this, we’ll return to the lodge for a restful overnight stay.
On the second day, we’ll wake up early at 5:30 AM and enjoy breakfast at the lodge restaurant by 6:00 AM. Shortly after, we’ll head out for a morning game drive in Tsavo East, taking advantage of the cooler hours when wildlife is most active.
We’ll explore the park until our 24-hour ticket validity expires, at which point we’ll exit the park and continue our adventure with a game drive in the Ngutuni Game Sanctuary. By midday, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch, after which we’ll check out and begin our return journey.
The drive back to Watamu or Diani will take approximately 3.5 hours, with an expected arrival at your hotel or villa around 5:30 PM.
