Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1: Watamu – Tsavo West National Park keyboard_arrow_down

    Your adventure begins early in the morning with a 4:00 AM departure from Watamu. As the sun rises, you’ll embark on a scenic 4-hour drive toward Manyani Gate, the main entrance to Tsavo West National Park. After ticket clearance, the morning game drive starts around 9:00 AM, giving you a chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and lions, all thriving in the rugged, volcanic landscapes. The journey continues with visits to some of the park’s most breathtaking attractions, including the Shetani Lava Flows, a dramatic black lava field formed by volcanic eruptions, and Mzima Springs, a lush oasis teeming with hippos and crocodiles.

    By midday, you will arrive at Ngulia Safari Lodge, a charming lodge nestled in the heart of Tsavo West. After check-in, enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by some time to relax and soak in the stunning surroundings. In the late afternoon, at around 3:30 PM, you’ll set off for an evening game drive, heading towards the Rhino Sanctuary, a protected area dedicated to the conservation of the endangered black rhino. As the sun sets, you’ll return to Ngulia Safari Lodge for an evening of relaxation, a delightful dinner, and an overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park keyboard_arrow_down

    After an early morning wake-up, you’ll have breakfast at Ngulia Safari Lodge before checking out for a morning game drive through Tsavo West. At around 10:00 AM, you’ll exit the park and drive for about 30 minutes to reach Voi Gate, the main entrance to Tsavo East National Park. Once inside, the adventure continues with a morning game drive, exploring the diverse landscapes of Tsavo East. Highlights of the day include Mudanda Rock, a massive rock formation that serves as a natural water catchment area and attracts large herds of elephants, and Lugard Falls, a series of white-water rapids along the Galana River.

    At around 1:00 PM, you will arrive at Sentrim Tarhi Camp, where you will check in and enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by an afternoon break to relax. In the late afternoon, you’ll embark on another evening game drive, providing more chances to witness the incredible wildlife of Tsavo East. As the day ends, you will return to Sentrim Tarhi Camp, where you can unwind, have dinner, and enjoy a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

  • Day 3: Tsavo East – Watamu/Malindi keyboard_arrow_down

    Your final safari day begins with an early morning wake-up at Sentrim Tarhi Camp at 5:00 AM, followed by breakfast at 5:30 AM. After checking out, you will set off on a morning game drive along the Galana River, one of the lifelines of Tsavo East, where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. At 11:00 AM, you will exit the park through Sala Gate, marking the official end of your safari.

    After exiting the park, a 30-minute drive will take you to Kudu Camp, where you will enjoy a final lunch before beginning the journey back. The return drive takes approximately 2.5 hours, bringing you back to your preferred destination in Watamu or Malindi by 5:30 PM. With incredible memories of the African wilderness, your safari adventure comes to an end.
